Surrey Joint Phase Council

Working together for Surrey’s Children

Purpose

The Joint Phase Council brings together school and education leaders from across Surrey, including Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Post-16 and Specialist Education. By working together, they ensure that children and young people experience a smooth and supportive journey through their education.

This group helps education settings and schools to share expertise, tackle challenges and build upon each other’s strengths. By collaborating with the Local Authority and other key partners, the Joint Phase Council ensures that every stage of a child’s learning is connected, creating the best possible opportunities for success.

Surrey’s education system is diverse and the Joint Phase Council plays a key role in making sure that all children, whatever their needs or background, receive high-quality support. Leaders from different phases of education work together to identify what works well, address issues and push for improvements. Their shared goal is to give every child the best start and a strong foundation for the future.

At its heart, the Joint Phase Council exists to serve Surrey’s children and young people. By strengthening links between education settings and ensuring a joined-up approach, it helps create a system that is inclusive, ambitious and built around the needs of every learner.
